About the Portfolio Decarbonization Coalition

Decarbonization is the process through which investors reduce portfolio exposure to GHG-emissions and align their portfolios with the climate economy of the future. There are different approaches to portfolio decarbonization which can be achieved across asset classes, including engagement, divestment, as well as ‘green investing’, and ‘carbon-tilting’ techniques. Facilitated by the CDP and the United Nations, and with the support of the French COP Presidency, the aim of the PDC is to catalyze, document, and display to Governments ahead of COP21, current and future decarbonization leadership worldwide, across all of its different manifestations.
